ZO® 3-Step Peel

Designed for all skin types to improve rough texture, sun damage, uneven skin tone, dullness, fine lines and acne.

The peel constitutes a medley of TCA, salicylic & lactic acids, with 6% retinol.

This peel requires 6 - 12 weeks of skin preconditioning to prepare the skin for the peel and achieve the best results. This peel can be used on the face & body. For optimal results a total of three peels are recommended, 1 month part.

PRECONDITIONING

Depending on your skin type, you will use at least a 0.5% retinol product (Radical Night Repair, Retinol Skin Brightener or Wrinkle Texture & Repair) or tretinoin and build up your skin tolerance to nightly use. For some patients, the preconditioning will include hydroquinone in addition to tretinoin/retinol. This will ensure you get optimal results and no side effects such as post inflammatory hyperpigmentation after the peel.

2-4 Days Prior to Treatment

  • Stop using retinol and exfoliants.

  • Avoid self tanning agents.

  • Post pone the treatment if you are experiencing cold sores or active skin lesions, windburn or sunburn.

  • Avoid waxing and dermaplaning, laser resurfacing or microneedling procedures for 1 month before the peel.

  • Avoid shaving one day prior to peel.

Post Peel Instructions

  • Avoid makeup on the day of treatment. When using makeup, make sure it’s non-comedogenic.

  • Avoid exercise for the remainder of the day (sweating) after the peel.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure. Use mineral sunscreen with minimum SPF 30.

  • Expect to start peeling on day 3-5 after the peel. DO NOT pull the peeling skin off! This will expose skin that is not yet ready, resulting in prolonged healing. Expect skin shedding for up to 9 days.

  • Avoid retinol/tretinoin/alpharet products for 7-9 days.

  • Avoid potentially irritating products (topical vitamin C, alpha & beta hydroxy acids) for 7-9 days after the peel.

  • Avoid steam, saunas and other heat sources on the day of the peel.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER THE PEEL

Day 1 post peel - no downtime

Day 3 - 7 - Peeling beginning over the mouth area and gradually over the peripheral face. It is very important not to pull the skin off. This will cause immature skin to be exposed and prolong healing.
